Future Fire Fighters?

Our neighborhood fire house opened up for people to stop by today. I read about it last night and asked Stefan if we should shift our usual Saturday morning routine of taking the bus to the library and coffee shop, and go see fire trucks instead. "For fire trucks?!" He said, "Of course!"

There was no surprise when we walked into the station, and there were about 10 other little kids running around looking at the trucks, some of them wearing fire hats and vests, and one wearing his Halloween lion costume (hee).

A couple of the trucks were out doing training runs, but the girls enjoyed seeing the Medic One vehicle and the long ladder truck up close, as well as the fire fighters' boots, jackets and helmets. With all that, what did Stella keep wanting to go back and see? The washing machine that she caught a glimpse of in a different room. Let me be clear, it wasn't in a Joan Cleaver "I can't wait to start washing my husband's clothes and I'm already checking out my washing machine options" way. It was in a "fire fighters have washing machines too!" way.

Checking out the ladder truck:Pole dancer train- I mean future fire fighter training!

Great idea, I'll have to keep my eyes open for something like that out here.

My Mom took Finn to the one in South Park but it looked like nothing was going on. Finn was very disappointed. :(
